The Better Satellite World Campaign
Graphic Standards The Better Satellite World campaign was developed and is led by the Society of Satellite Professionals International. The success of the campaign, however, depends on our many outstanding partners and endorsing organizations, many of which are listed below. We offer these graphic standards to guide them in applying the graphic identity of the campaign in their own online and print materials.
Goal of the Campaign The modern world literally runs on satellite – but few people know it. Too many think of satellite only when they see news about exploding rockets or natural disasters. That lack of awareness contributes to – •
Regulatory assault on our spectrum.
•
Lack of government support for satellite solutions to the digital divide.
•
Customers in new markets who don’t consider satellite a serious option.
•
Potential young employees who are interested in space but know nothing about the only industry that does business there.
The Better Satellite World campaign focuses on changing perceptions of satellite among policymakers, future customers and the young talent our industry needs to thrive. Through partner associations and thought-‐leader companies, we are building a platform to get the truth out and make it stick.
Campaign Logo
X
Our campaign logo is based on a child’s drawing of what satellites do, donated by Space Systems Loral. We encourage you to display it and link it to www.bettersatelliteworld.com, where visitors will find stories of satellite changing the world in text, pictures and video. The logo should be displayed at sizes no smaller than 1-‐1/2 inches (4 cm) to ensure that the type remains readable. It should be displayed with a minimum clearance (X) from other copy equal to the width of the blue band containing the text.
