Build Language Skills: Vocabulary The Suffix -able The suffix -able means “able to be.” The word identifiable contains the suffix -able. When an animal is identifiable, it is able to be identified.

A. DIRECTIONS: In column one of the chart is a list of words. In column three, each word has the suffix -able added to it. Fill in columns two and four with the meanings of the words. Below the chart, use each word from column three in a sentence. The first one is done for you as an example.
