Ryan Kelley
Detroit Tigers Pitching Coach
WSU Head Baseball Coach
Jeff Jones has over 30 years of experience in professional baseball, including over 20 as a coach in the Detroit Tigers organization. Jones spent seven seasons as the pitching coach for the Toledo Mud Hens, Detroit’s Triple A affiliate. His professional coaching career began in 1989. Selected by Oakland in the 13th round of the June 1977 draft, his pitching career spanned 11 seasons (1977-87). He attended Southgate High School, helping lead his team to the Wyandotte League title in 1974.
Ryan Kelley completed his 10th season overall at WSU and fourth year as head coach in 2012. The Warriors went 3421 and hosted the 2012 NCAA Midwest Regional. Kelley has guided the Warriors to four straight GLIAC Tournament appearances including a championship in 2010. Over his WSU career, the baseball program has received 124 Academic All-GLIAC selections, 61 All-GLIAC awards and 37 All-Region honors. Kelley, a graduate of Dearborn Divine Child, was a fouryear pitcher at Michigan (1996-99).
