Carers, May I first of ... AWS

Dear Parents/Carers, May I first of all take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year. As you may know, we ran a very successful STEM club last half term where students focused on sustainability, with students working on a project based around water consumption or crop growth. As the project now draws to a close their work will be sent to BP as part of a national competition. Due to the interest in the club, we have decided to continue to run the after school sessions, this time investigating space, with resources designed by the Royal Society of Engineering. Previously the club had run on Tuesday’s. However, this will change this term to a Thursday. This club will start running from Thursday 25th January and will continue until Easter. The sessions will last from 3.30pm until 4.30pm. The first session will be held in my classroom- Room 62. We would be delighted to have as many students attend the club as possible as the projects and activities will support topics being covered inside the classroom. All students from Year 8 and 9 would be welcome to attend, including any newcomers. If you are happy for your son/daughter to attend please complete the reply slip attached to the letter and return to either Miss Clark or Mrs Darkins.
