The contents of this pack, when fixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, will contribute to achieving compliance with Part M requirements of Building Regulations for wheelchair accessible toilets.
The contents of the pack should always include the layout instructions given in the documents “DRAWING No. DOCM 3 – 32 24/11/15”.
The pack toilet pack contains sanitary fittings, taps and grab rails required to achieve compliance with the Building Regulations. Other components required to ensure full compliance such as soap dispenser, mirror, door handles and toilet roll holder are outside the scope of this registration. Further guidance and advice regarding other fittings should be sought in Approved Document M to the Building Regulations 2010 – “Access to and use of Buildings”. For LABSS purposes: The chosen colour for the suite rails should contrast with the colour of the toilet cubical. The fixed grab rails have been assessed to support a load of up to 285 Kg. The hinged rail has been assessed to support a load of up to 228 Kg. The wall fixed WC pan bracket been assessed to support a load of up to 400 Kg. The toilet packs provide an acceptable alternative approach to the accessible toilet facility described within guidance clauses 3.12.7 and 3.12.8. The provision of signage identifying the accessible toilet, the colostomy bag shelf and the assistance alarm are not included within the scope of this detail.
LABC consider that, Twyfords Doc M Pack Back to Wall, will meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations (listed below) if the criteria detailed in this certificate are met;
