Anita’s Express Karlie’s Cards Tuesday, May 3 or Saturday, May 10:00am - 1:00pm We will supply the cards for this class. You should have adequate time in class to embroider two different cards. Please study the illustrations at the end of this document. After you select the appliqué fabric, you can select the embroidery threads. Please take note that one thread color in each design is represented in two shades: medium and dark. You will need a bobbin of white bobbin thread.

Hoop G 5" x 7" or larger. G A larger hoop allows the card to lay flatter.
Stabilizer G Tear-away Stabilizer: to fit hoop
Tools & Notions G Scotch Double Sided Transparent Tape. This product is usually available at office supply stores. We will have some on hand, but it will be a help if you can bring a roll. G Embroidery Perfection Tape (pink) or blue painter’s tape. G Appliqué scissors (if you have more than one, bring all that you own.) G Fabric shears for cutting appliqué fabric pieces. G Embroidery Needle 75/11 or Denim Needle 80/12. G Bobbin of white bobbin thread.

Please study the illustrations below. The appliqué fabrics shown here are bright and cheerful. Most importantly, they are solids or near solids which allow the lettering to show. Using these samples as guides, select your appliqué fabrics. We recommend that the Base Appliqué fabric be a cream or ivory. Then select your embroidery threads. Please take note that one thread color in each design is represented in two shades: medium and dark.
