  Ex.  Stick  Maintenance  –  Each  position  on  the  field  calls  for  a  certain  type  of  pocket,  stick  head,  throwing  strings.  You  really   can’t  use  an  attackmen’s  feeder  stick  for  a  long  pole  close  defenseman  and  be  as  effective  as  you  need  to  be  in  the  clearing   game.  –  Dave  Donovan,  CSCS  Director  SAQ  advisor  Team  Philadelphia  

Core  training  programs:   SAQ,  Core  &  Lacrosse  Training  &  League  play  (Sample  program)     5-­‐10mins  Lax  Warm  up     •  Wall  ball  drills  Stationary  then  always  into  moving  feet  catching  in  throwing.   5-­‐10mins  Dynamic  Warm  up  stretch  –  Lacrosse  specific  movements  &  stretches   • Goalies  &  Face-­‐offs  during  above  time   5-­‐10mins  Offensive  Drills   • Dodging  to  shot       5-­‐10mins  Game  situation  drills   • Ex.    3  on  2’s  or  4  on  3’s   15-­‐  20Mins  Game  play   • 4  on  4’s,  3  on  3’s  keeping  score  and  rotating  groups  in.     • Staff  split  teams  up     • Important  for  them  to  work  on  what  they  just  learned  in  the  training  and  apply  it  in  the  game.
