CoreNet Global NEwsletter A Message From the President
Don’t Miss the
On April 1, 2015, I reported for duty as President of CoreNet New England with a tremendous sense of excitement. I would like to, again, thank Chris Horblit for his three years of distinguished service and incredible commitment to CoreNet New England. Fortunately for our Chapter, Chris continues to serve passionately and zealously as our Immediate Past President and Chair of our Finance Committee.
Sunday, October 18 – Tuesday, October 20, 2015
During our first quarter, more than 80 members of CoreNet New England attended the Eastern Regional Symposium in Washington, D.C. Sarah Abrams of Iron Mountain participated in a panel on “Designing Your CRE Organization for Effective Business Support”, and Karen Ellzey of CBRE moderated that extremely engaging panel. Chris Horblit of Fidelity and Karen Pritchard of Wellington were the speakers at the Young Leaders Forum Breakfast which was held at the historic Cosmos Club on Embassy Row. Many thanks to all of our CoreNet members for participating and attending ERS. CoreNet New England hosted its 14th annual golf tournament at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth on July 15, 2015. The tournament raised $12,000.00 for South Shore Habitat for Humanity. The success of the tournament was dependent on the efforts of our extremely passionate and devoted golf co-chairs, Don DiPanfilo of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Dave Provost of Boston Properties, our golf chief adviser, Kristin Poulin of Structure Tone, and our stellar golf committee. Our first helicopter golf ball drop was one of many amazing memories of the tournament and was generously sponsored by Margulies Perruzzi Architects. If you have never heard of or seen a helicopter golf ball drop, I urge you to attend next year’s golf tournament which will be held at Pinehills on July 12, 2016. Our talented and dedicated CoreNet New England committees have been meeting all summer planning our exciting Fall programs – please see the schedule in this newsletter or visit our Chapter website calendar so you don’t miss out! Please know that the CoreNet New England Board and I want to hear from you and learn how CoreNet New England can help you and how to engage you more in the Chapter. I look forward to seeing you at our many upcoming events. Best regards,
Cynthia Keliher President, CoreNet Global New England Board of Directors

Sponsor Spotlight | CoreNet Sponsors Have a Wide Reach With an impending expiration of May 2015 for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA)’s lease at its current headquarters, Don DiPanfilo, Vice President of Corporate Real Estate and Administrative Services BCBSMA, made the decision to once again retain Colliers International to evaluate potential real estate opportunities. Colliers International established its successful relationship with BCBSMA in 2000 when it partnered with the health care leader to relocate its headquarters to The Landmark Center. Colliers International has continued to build its relationship with BCBSMA and has assisted on several additional real estate projects including their facilities located at One Enterprise Drive in Quincy and 25 Technology Place in Hingham, MA.
After conducting an extensive site search with a focus on creating a dynamic and healthy workspace in an amenity-rich environment, embracing the key criteria of affordability, accessible public transportation, plentiful parking, sustainability, and the opportunity to enhance their brand and company culture through their real estate, 101 Huntington Avenue was selected as the new headquarters location for BCBSMA. 101 Huntington proved to be the most affordable option that will best meet the needs of BCBSMA business and its valued associates. 101 Huntington Avenue, located at the Prudential Center complex in the Back Bay of Boston, is owned and operated by Boston Properties. In light of both BCBSMA and BP’s focus on sustainability, Boston Properties recently pursued LEED for Existing Building certification at 101 Huntington, achieving LEED Gold late last year. Rounding out this great project team, Structure Tone was selected as the general contractor after a rigorous bid process. With its relocation completed during May, this impressive team, BCBSMA, Colliers International, Boston Properties and Structure Tone, as well as CoreNet sponsors, have successfully brought the new BCBSMA headquarters vision to life.
