Sport or Game “Type” Please adhere to the following rules and regulations when scheduling/utilizing the courts: You may only schedule courts in 1 hour increments (i.e. 11:00am – 12:00pm, 2:15pm – 3:15pm, 4:30pm – 5:30pm) A single individual/team may NOT schedule a court for more than 1 hour at any given time. A court can NOT be scheduled more than a week in advance (i.e. if scheduling on Friday 10.23.09, you can schedule only up to Friday 10.30.09) Do NOT monopolize a court (i.e. you may not set up a re-occurring court reservation. The court must be scheduled individually each week.) Please remember to DELETE your court reservation if you, your opponent, or group is unable to make the scheduled day/time of your game. Do NOT double book a court. If a time slot is reserved on Court 1, check the court(s) to see if that time is available. If your desired time is not available on either court, you will need to find an alternate time to schedule your game. If a court is double booked, the Health Club team will be unable to determine who originally scheduled the court.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for your court reservation, it will be considered a forfeiture of your reservation. At that time, any individuals who would like to make use of the court will be granted access. The remaining time on the forfeited reservation is then allotted to those individuals. Your court reservation is not reserved until you receive a confirmation email from a Health Club Team member. Basketball Court Please adhere to the following rules and regulations when utilizing the courts: Members are required to wear shoes with non-marring soles. Shoes with mud, sand, or gum will not be allowed in the gymnasium area. Athletic, tennis, or basketball shoes only. All games will be self-officiated with the offense calling their own fouls. After a foul, the ball will be checked up at the top of the key (no free throws). Both the offense and defense will call violations (traveling, double dribble, out of bounds, etc.). This will be based on the honor system. If an agreement cannot be reached, then the ball will be rechecked at the top of the key with the team who had the last possession obtaining the ball. First possession will be determined by a three point shot at the beginning of the game. No shirts vs. skins. Team #2 will wear scrimmage jerseys. Game Length o All games will be played to 11 by 1's and 2's when people are waiting to enter game. o If 10 or less players are present and no one is waiting to play, games will be played to 15 by 1's and 2's. o Teams must win by 2 or more. o Game limit is 15 minutes (clock provided by fitness center). If there is a tie at the buzzer, continue to play until a team scores. The first team to score will be declared the winners. o Teams o Teams will be formed by players shooting free throws. The first 5 made will make up Team #1. The next 5 made will make up team #2. If more than 5 people make their shots, those who made their shots will shoot again to determine who makes up the final 5 players. Who plays next? o Those who are waiting at the start of a game will play in the next game (see rules below for players waiting). If less than 5 players are present at the start of the game, the players who were not in the gym at the start of the game will shoot to make up the rest of the team. o The players who shot and did not participate in that game will automatically play in the next game. If less than 5 players, the players coming off the court will shoot to make up the rest of the team.
o If you are playing a game on court 2, you can not stop your game to play on court 1 when others are waiting to play. Who keeps the court? o 1-6 players waiting: Winning team keeps the court. If less than 5 players, losing team's players shoot to remain on the court. If 6 players waiting, then six shoot for 5 spots. o 7 or more waiting: Winning team keeps the court. If a team wins 2 games, the 3rd game will be their last game regardless of the outcome. If a team wins 3 games in a row, all players waiting on that court will enter the game. *If less than 10 players entering the game, only the winning team's players may shoot to make up the rest of the team.
