The men’s and women’s teams maintained a level of success that has become the standard in recent years, despite some unexpected turnover. In cross country, the women extended their streak of Top 10 Regional finishes to 3 years while the men tied the program’s streak of 5 consecutive years. During the track and field season, the men saw 3 freshmen run at or under 15:10 in the 5K while the women saw three underclassmen run at or under 18:30. The attitude and enthusiasm at the end of the academic year was the best Coach Schauf has seen in 10 years, and optimism for the fall is high since most of the team chose to stay in Menomonie for the summer! The team recently purchased 4 ElliptiGOs and trainers to diversify the cross-training options. Some distance runners are obsessed with naming things (routes, hills, etc.), so this would provide a great opportunity for you to leave another mark on the program. For $1,000 you may name an ElliptiGO (i.e. Red Wagon). That name, which must be appropriate, will be stenciled onto the bike along with your name as the lone donor. Donors giving at least $100 will have their name stenciled onto an ElliptiGO, along with other contributors until that ElliptiGO is paid off.
Thank you for your support of our studentathletes! Last year’s donations supported the team’s trip to Seattle, WA and the upgrade of some much-needed tent accessories.
