CRDC Part 1: Data Collection What data can I count on from Illuminate?

Today’s Goals

● What is the CRDC Report? ○ CRDC Background ○ Who is responsible ● Getting Started ○ Courses ○ Credentials ○ Bullying ○ Behavior ● Data Not in Illuminate ● Resources

What is CRDC?

CRDC Background ●

● ● ●

The CRDC is also a longstanding and critical aspect of the overall enforcement and monitoring strategy used by OCR to ensure that recipients of the Department’s Federal financial assistance do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, and disability. In February 2014 OCR received approval to require every public school to submit CRDC data, this includes charter schools. Remember you are collecting data for 2015 - 2016….if you were not an ISI client then, you may not have all the data points populated! Consists of a School FIle and an LEA/Charter Organization file

Who is responsible for CRDC? ●

This report is built for IsI clients - a DnA only client will have a difficult time making this useful. Contact your SIS to find out what options they have for CRDC. In March 2016 your district/charter would have started to receive communication from OCR about this collection window. Your organization would have had to submit an individual who is responsible for gathering all this data. Required submission for all organizations - has a 75 day window that could start late Jan 2017 to early Feb 2017.

Getting started The setup:

COURSEs Don’t Wait! Start Now! Make a list of all your course: Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Advanced Math, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, All AP, AP Math, AP Science Courses, AP Non-Math or Sciences, Dual Enrollment, Algebra I, All of the above that are offered single sex!

Teacher Credentials This data will need to come from HR. You can track Teacher Credentials under user management. Going forward that would make this data much easier to gather! User Management>Edit User>Credentials>Add Credential

Behavior Consequences This is a federal report, not all consequences will apply to you.

Behavior Bullying Categories There is a section in Major Behavior Incidents that talks about motivations and Bullying. Going forward - you may want to make sure your people are using this area to make sure that data is easy to gather.

Behavior violations Can change depending on the state. You will want to make sure that violations are assigned to all major behavior consequences!

Data not in illuminate:

What?! You mean it’s not all here! There is data we do not store in Illuminate: ● ●

Some of these are Y/N questions about your Instance. Most are questions dealing with the number of FTE versus your expenditures in salary and all other parts of your budgets. All included on the spreadsheet!

What’s Next?

Start Gathering Data Remember: ● ● ● ● ●

This data is for 15 - 16, not current year! Work with your organization to compile the appropriate lists of classes that you had last year. Start looking at Behavior Consequences from last year. Look at how you tracked your Bullying data Look at making whatever changes necessary for coming years!

Sign up for the Tool Webinar! Mark your calendars! Jan 25, 2017 at 7:30 and 3:00 we will be hosting part 2 of this CRDC series. We will show and demonstrate for you: ● ● ●
