Croydon Cyclists Notes of January 2015 meeting Consultations - Crystal Palace Parade - various members have fed into this scheme being run by Southwark and TfL - could be good, if they heed cyclists' comments. Southwark's consultation scheme looks like a model which Croydon could follow; Kristian has forwarded details on to Cllr Kathy Bee and Carole Crankshaw. We need to get geared up on future consultation exercises in Croydon, galvanising our local membership to become active. Kristian to contact Amy to get things ready and ask for latest Croydon LCC membership database with view to having list of key contacts, not just "cyclists". Cycling Strategy - Kristian, Angus and Jim attended the first meeting with the Council, nobody could make the second, a third might be held. More work before release for public consultation. Quietways - Council awaiting details from TfL on the last 3 of 4, to Sutton, Crystal Palace and Greenwich (the first one goes to Waterloo - consultation due soon) and chasing up Sustrans on how they will deliver the routes. Cycling in parks - could be legalised; councillors to be briefed. Frith Street and High Street cycling contraflows - could be in as early as March. The design should reflect the London Cycle Design Standards. It seems McDonalds have been given planning permission to build a drive-thru' at the Croydon end.
