CSUMB @ Salinas City Center is a unique setting for groups up to 600 for meetings, seminars, and receptions. Events may be held in the rotunda, galleries, flexible meeting rooms and enclosed courtyards.
ROTUNDA The Rotunda is the spectacular glass enclosed main entrance of the building. It is equally dramatic by day or night with vaulted ceilings, slate and hardwood floors. The space is open and roomy, with views of historic Main Street Salinas and our private back patio.
SALINAS ROOM The Salinas Room is a unique flexible space which offers a large single room or can be divided into two equal sized rooms (Salinas 1 & Salinas 2). With high walls, carpeting and a warm inviting atmosphere, this room has capacity that will fit most needs.
VISTA ROOM The Vista Room is a beautiful gallery space with abundant natural light. Easy access is provided to a front walkway/patio. This space is close to our in-house food prep area for catering.
GABILAN ROOM The Gabilan Room is the perfect workroom setting for presentation, workshop, or lecture purposes. With the shades drawn back, Gabilan provides an entire wall of natural light.
UNIVERSITY GALLERIES I & II Each of these spaces have very unique styles and personalities. Gallery I is an open area with slate floors, high ceilings, exhibition lighting and an entryway that works perfectly for check in or greeting. Gallery II, while is lead through Gallery I, has a very different feel. Wall to wall carpet, wooden pillar centerpiece and access to back patio, makes for a fun and functional meeting space.

Room Rental includes set-up of standard tables and chairs. Linens, napkins and table drape rentals may be arranged at an additional fee. Set up for Audio Visual(A/V) and specialty items are not included in room rental. CSUMB has A/V equipment available such as projectors, projection screens, microphones, and smart TV's that are all available for rent.

Terms of Agreement 1. Pre-event Walk Through A pre-event scheduled walk through shall occur with our staff no later than 7 days prior to event. 2.Reservations /Deposit Facility reservations are based on a first come first serve basis. Reservation dates are not confirmed without a signed rental agreement and rental deposit. Rental deposit is $600 dollars of the estimated total event cost. Deposit portion is due no later than 14 days prior to event. Final payment portion, including any additional fees that may be incurred but not included in the original estimate, will be billed and due no later than 30 days after the date of invoice. At this time we do not accept Credit Cards. Please make checks payable to: University Corporation 3.Discounts Non-profit (501 C3) groups will receive a 20% discount off of room rental when documentation of nonprofit status is provided and will include the same benefits and restrictions outlined in these details. Please provide w-9, non-profit exemption (IRS) and sales tax exemption letter from state of CA. Partnered schools can also be provided a discount if the event is educational based.
4. Liability Insurance The client shall provide (at own expense) a policy of comprehensive liability insurance insuring the corporation at CSUMB and all CSUMB branches from any liabilityarising out of the use or occupancy of the premises and all areas associated. Such insurance shall be in an amount no less than $1,000,000.00 for bodily injury liability and property damage liability in any one incident.
5. Cancellations If client choses to cancel an event, it must be done at least 7 business days in advance without penalty. Any cancellation after this point will result in forfeiture of 50% of DEPOSIT amount. If the client gives no prior notification at all, it will result in forfeiture of entire deposit amount. CSUMB at Salinas City Center is not responsible for unexpected cancellations due to acts of nature, emergency purposes, or any other occurrences beyond the control of the facility employees. In the case of such an event, CSUMB staff will attempt to reschedule the event at the earliest available date/ time. Client will not be held responsible until the date of reschedule.
6. Set-up, Breakdown and Clean-up Access for set-up may be arranged with event staff during pre-event walk through. All equipment and décor supplied by the renter must be hung by the renter prior to the event and removed by the renter atthe end of the event. CSUMB staff members are only responsible for CSUMB equipment. If client’s clean-up time extends past contracted time frame, a fee will be included in final invoice for security and staffing purposes. CSUMB Corporation will not be responsible for any items left behind.
7. Décor Décor plan must be discussed and approved during pre-event walk through. If client uses décor outside of what CSUMB Corporation is able to provide (linens etc), CSUMB staff will not be responsible for set up or removal of these items. All décor, promotional items, supplies and outside rental equipment must be removed by the client immediately following event end time. The following items are not permitted by CSUMB: -Fake snow, confetti, glitter. -Helium balloons; may ONLY be allowed if attached to a weight. -No live fire of any kind.

7. Cont. Decor -No structural or permanent physical alterations or attachments to CSUMB property. -Pins, tacks or staples may not be used on any walls within facility. If you would like to tape something to the wall you may ONLY use painters tape. -Do not use the walls as a "clipboard" or writing area: Pressure from writing also may mark/indent our walls.
8. Deliveries and Pick-ups All deliveries and pick-ups must be arranged during pre-event walk through. Neither facility nor staff is responsible for parking or traffic violations incurred as a result of event loading/unloading. Deliveries/pick-ups may utilize our loading dock with approval from coordinator. Deliveries/pick-ups will take place on the day of event only unless special arrangements are made with CSUMB. CSUMB staff is not responsible for assisting in loading/ unloading, lifting or carrying anything that client has delivered.
9. Event Security Policy In compliance with the Salinas Police Department, and the safety of our guests, security will be required for any event where alcohol will be served. Security services, provided by Condor Security, must be booked through CSUMB @ Salinas City Center at the clients expense. Security guards are under the direct supervision of CSUMB staff. Requirements are as follows: -A ratio of 1 guard per 50 attendees -A minimum of 4 hours per guard. -Client may request additional security at own discretion and cost.
10. Catering P olicy We have a list a approved caterers. If you don't see your favorite caterer on our list, please let us know. We may be able to accommodate you. All caterers will receive a copy of our cleaning expectations. In the result of CSUMB employees having to clean the kitchen, a fee will be applied and billed onto the event client. 11. Alcohol Policy CSUMB does not handle bar services. We can provide a list of services upon request. Guests may be asked for valid picture identification. No individual under the age of 21 or persons who appears intoxicated will be served alcohol.
11. Cont. Alcohol Policy Any event that has alcohol present will be restricted to invited guests only. Non-alcoholic beverages must be provided to guest. Bar servers must stop pouring 30 minutes prior to events end time.
12. Parking Parking vouchers for Monterey Street Parking Garage may be purchased as part of renter’s contract at a discounted rate. While we ask for an accurate count for parking vouchers, renting party will not be charged for unused/returned vouchers. 13. Lost/Stolen Items In the event that any item are left behind, CSUMB Corporation is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items. 14. Museum Admission Rental fee does not include admission to the Steinbeck Exhibits for groups holding events during the museum's normal business hours nor during off hours.
