Dear Friends, The Village School Parent Association’s primary mission is to provide community-building events that bring our VSPA members together. Another important mission of the Association is to raise funds to provide important “extras”, above and beyond what would be considered just basic classroom equipment and materials, and to support the participation of our teachers in advanced enrichment programs, with the intent to optimize and benefit the academic, social and emotional development of all our Village School students. Our Members Night Out and Silent Auction is the Village School Parent Association’s most popular community building event, along with our single largest fundraising event of the school year. We have over 1200 members and over 1500 students representing countries and cultures from around the globe . This years’ event, “Starry, Starry Night: An evening in black and white “, will be held Saturday March 28th, 2015 at the Chateau Crystale Event Center in Houston. The event will include a fun-filled evening of dining, dancing, entertainment, and celebration together! Of course, there will be excitement and competition too, provided as always by the featured event of the evening: The “Starry, Starry Night 2015” Silent Auction! Students from all classrooms participate in creating a variety of Art Projects, which are offered for bid by class and sometimes by grade-level. Other popular school related items are also offered for bid. The bidding competition to take home these fabulous creations by the children, or to win one of the coveted school offerings, is always very exciting, and it provides VSPA the opportunity to raise funds for worthwhile projects in fulfillment of our mission. New this year will be the High School Student Charity Auction where a select number of artistic creations from HS IB Art Students are submitted for bid. The proceeds of each items” sale will be donated to the charity of that students’ choice.
