Dear Player, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the University of Providence (Formerly the University of Great Falls) lacrosse program. The Argonaut lacrosse team will be entering its fifth season as a fully funded varsity lacrosse program. What does this mean for our players? All equipment (except for stick and cleats) and travel is paid for by us. Additionally, we can offer scholarships for up to 30 players with the minimum amount being $12,000 (approximately 50% of tuition cost). The University of Providence is going through some exciting changes with the first being the name change. The name will more closely reflect the founding of the school by the Sisters of Providence and the school’s relationship with Providence Saint Joseph Health. This will also bring the addition of additional majors, athletic programs and a growth in the student population to around 1,400 students. We are an NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) school. Typically, NAIA schools have student body populations that are under a few thousand; UProv is no different with approximately 800 undergrads this year. This means that every class is a personalized experience: our student to faculty ratio is near 12:1. We are a private Catholic school but only about 40% of our students are practicing Catholics. The Catholic experience is available if you are interested, but is not necessary for enrollment. If you would like to learn more about our school, please visit https://uprovidence.edu/. Our lacrosse team is competing in the MCLA while the NAIA progresses through the initial founding of lacrosse as a sanctioned sport. We are in the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League, competing against teams in Oregon, Washington, Montana and Idaho. We made great strides in the 2017 season finishing 10-4 and ranked #20 in the MCLA national coach’s poll. To view our schedule, and learn more information about the UProv lacrosse team, please visit http://upargos.com/index.aspx?path=mlax&. Our team is looking for quality young men who have a strong love for lacrosse and a desire to enhance their selfworth through hard work and obtaining an education. Specifically, we want guys to come to our school for the academics and campus life. We’re interested in people who enjoy the recreational activities that Montana has to offer: hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, camping, rafting, etc. If this sounds like a place you would consider for your education and lacrosse career, please go to http://upargos.com/sb_output.aspx?frform=7&path=mlax& and fill out a “Recruit Me” form in order to assist the recruiting process. We look forward to telling you more about our school and team, while getting to know you better. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at any time at the numbers below.
