It is already December, would you believe it? Every year I am so surprised of how fast the time goes. Do you think I will ever get over it? ... Is it because I am getting older?... Probably.... (But please don’t let me know you think so too). e Santerr Michèle Owner
In December we will have a couple of events and I will also take the staff away for a retreat on December 6, 7 and 8 inclusively. The Saturday December 6 we will close the store at 4pm and the 7 and 8 we will be closed all day. The
staff is really looking forward to this retreat and, actually I am too. My team is the best team in the whole world and because I do appreciate them very much, I think that they deserve to go away and enjoy free time. While classes for this year are winding down, the Calendar for January through April 2015 is on its way. It’s shaping up to be a great kick off to the year, with a great line up of classes, including some great new ones. We will also have a lot of events, we are celebrating our 7th anniversary and we thought that because it is 7, our theme should be Lucky Seven. All year long it will be "Buy 6 get the 7th free on everything" (excluding the Bernina products). Remember when we did a surprise event on every 5th of the month two years ago, I thought we should do the same with every 7th of the month. What do you think? All the promotions will be on our Facebook Page, so don't forget to “like us” to be able to take advantage of them. Our 7th Anniversary Sale will be from January 2nd to the 7th and don't forget that we are open on Sunday now. (For this particular Sunday we will be opened from 10 to 4) We will also have our Challenge for the World Wide Quilt Day which will be on March 15, we will make it available in the middle of January, and so much more... You really have to read the Newsletter every month to the last page otherwise you may miss an important event (like a SALE or a give away)!

There will be a Merry Swissmas for some lucky Running Stitch customers. The Bernina 530 Swiss Edition was as popular as we anticipated and r e s ra those lovely Swiss Red machines quickly left the Wendy F floor. Congratulations to all our proud owners. Although the stock at The Running Stitch is gone, there may still be a very limited amount left in the Bernina Canada warehouse. See the winter savings flyer for Bernina pricing. The Bernina ‘Savings in a Winter Wonderland’ is now on and our most popular B750 is on sale for $4,399.00. This seasonal promotion also includes your favourite 25% off one Bernina Accessory coupon, so don’t miss out and make sure to download the flyer. When you download the flyer clip the coupon and put it on the fridge. Front and center so that all your hungry loved ones can see and know what to get you for Christmas.
One of the accessories you may want to consider is the Magnifying Lens set. This three lens set can be installed on almost any Bernina model of sewing machine and allows for magnification right at the needle where you need it. Three different strengths are included so you can determine what you need for each project or for different lighting situations (or depending on how tired you are LOL — ask me how I know that!). This set is nicely packaged and can easily fit inside a Christmas Stocking (see note about coupon on the fridge above). The application that I have found to be most helpful with the addition of these lens to my machine has been the accuracy of my quarter inch seam as well as machine applique. I can’t believe the difference it made. And I don’t have to keep looking for my glasses! There is a special adapter that attaches to the lens when it is not on the machine so that you can use it as a reading lens. The set no longer comes with the mounting brackets included. There are ordered separately for each different machine model. At The Running Stitch we have a few of the sets that include mounting brackets in stock so hurry in before they disappear.
Bernina has also introduced a new quilter’s package specifically designed for owners of the B530, B560 and B710 machines. These machines can support the many fabulous features of a Quilter’s Edition machine, but the feet are not included with the above listed models. This package includes the #37 patchwork foot, the walking foot, the magnifier set and… yes indeed, the Bernina Stitch Regulator. Whooo Hooo!

Using many different prints in the same colour family gives this quilt a rich look. I have used reds and greens for a Christmas look, but of course, any two combinations you favour will be great for class purposes.. The measurements are 50" x50", just like the quilt shown in the store. A larger size can be made just by increasing the number of blocks.
