Our Honorees
Susan and Aaron Weinberg spent quite a number of years as snowbirds, leading up to Aaron's retirement in May, 2011. They both knew that Bal Harbour was to be their retirement home, and that Young Israel was to be their shul. In the years leading up to 2011, Susan and Aaron were fortunate to establish many friendships at Young Israel. These friendships have continued to grow stronger and they feel blessed to have established many more friendships since their move in 2011. Both Susan and Aaron became active in Young Israel almost immediately, and Aaron -- to his surprise -- was nominated to be President, for the term starting in January 2013. Challenges clearly come with the Presidency, but it has been a labor of love, and the opportunity to witness the growth of our shul and community and simultaneously the emergence of our new building has truly been a blessing.
