MEET #1 RESULTS CBST: 780 and BMST: 624 Way to go team, you guys did great!!
A lot of our swimmers improved their times and qualified for invitational meets! (See “Invitationals” article on page 2) New swimmers got to experience their first competitive meet, and feel the energy from competition.
As Dorie on Finding Nemo always says, “just keep swimming, swimming, swimming…”
MEET AVAILABILITY The RSVP email is sent out on Sunday afternoons. Please RSVP by Tuesday evening and let us know if you can NOT attend the meet or if you have to leave EARLY. This helps the coach pick the events each swimmer will be swimming at the meet. If you find out at the last minute (after Tuesday night up to Saturday morning) that you cannot attend the meet, then let us know by phoning a friend to tell the computer person at the meet.
CHECKING IN AT THE MEETS THANK YOU TO THOSE PARENTS THAT GOT THEIR SWIMMERS TO THE MEET ON TIME! Unfortunately we had too many swimmers arrive late and this is problematic. This causes elevated stress to our computer staff, and can cause the meet to start late. It is very helpful to have all swimmers check in and be ready to go on time so the computer people can start making the necessary relay changes. Reminder: Warm‐up is mandatory. The swimmer will be scratched from ALL relay events if they do not warm up. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Please make sure you know how to get to the meet on time. Thanks for your assistance. We appreciate your understanding and efforts to help us in this area!

Please make sure to check in on Saturday prior to the meet.
INVITATIONALS Our season is made up of “regular division meets – everyone attends” and “invitational meets – swimmers must qualify to attend”. Parents have the responsibility of letting the Concord Bridge Swim Team representative and the Coach know, in writing, if a swimmer has qualified for a particular invitational meet and plans to attend that meet. A CBST board member can provide some guidance.
SUMMER THUNDER The Summer Thunder swim meet is an invitational meet, and not required. You can go to the Invitational page (under Meet Info) of the website for more data.

VOLUNTEERS
REMINDERS: Please only sign up for shift that you can complete. DO NOT have others sign you up for volunteer shifts. Tear down does not end at the pool. We need some parents to go to the CBST pool to help UNLOAD the truck. The Team Coordinators will keep track of your hours; you need to enter your name, swimmer’s name and in/out time on the sign‐in sheets. You should stay in the area you have signed up to cover. You’re welcome to run and watch your child, but return to your post right after. It is very important to sign in and out. It would be a good idea to keep track of your own hours to compare to our records. Please look at the attached list to see that our tracking is accurate (see a board member if you have any questions.) Remember each family is required to work at least 25 volunteer hours (at minimum to get your volunteer check returned at the end of the year party) We have many families that work well above the minimum amount of hours. As a matter of fact, the top three volunteering families will win a prize (will this be your family).

DON’T FORGET TO CHECK YOUR FAMILY FOLDERS FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION
RED, WHITE AND BLUE: WHAT DOES IT MEAN? When you look at the results for your swimmer, you might see a RED, BLUE, or PON next to their time. What does it mean? RED and BLUE means your swimmer has qualified for the Red, White & Blue invitational meet in that event. PON means your swimmer has qualified for the Ponderosa invitational meet in that event. The cut‐off times are shown with each event, so you can see how close your swimmer is to qualifying for these meets. Both meets are held at the end of June. More information regarding invitational meet sign‐up will be sent out next week……
KUDOS CORNER A huge thanks to all the parents that volunteered this past weekend. When we called for help, you guys stepped up to the plate. Our set‐up and clean‐up volunteers did an AWESOME job!! You did a very impressive job! The Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL) sanctions the Concord Bridge Swim Team. NWAL can be found at www.nwal.org. There is a lot of information on the website about training for officials, invitational meets, rules, etc. Check it out.
