BUJUMBURA DONATION LIST

5.5 TONS!

5.5 tons is equal to: • 5,000 kg • Two BMW X5 SUVs • An average Asian elephant • One engine from a Boeing 737

• Two Great White sharks • The weight of the donations that our team can carry to Bujumbura!

110 team members X 2 bags/team member X 50 lbs/bag X 1 ton/2000 lbs = 5.5 tons You can’t argue with the math!! If each person on our team packs two checked pieces of luggage with donated items, we will be able to bring 5.5 tons of donations with us to Burundi. Let’s challenge our churches and challenge ourselves to live selflessly and take advantage of this opportunity to bless Burundi out of our abundance!

SCHOOL/ORPHANAGE SUPPLIES There is a orphanage just outside of Bujumbura that we’re going to bless. The orphanage is run by Bishop Jean Bosco Sindambiwe, the Chairman of the Bujumbura Festival Committee. Bishop Bosco has established a school, as a part of the orphanage, to serve these children. This school has no outside support, other than the limited resources that Bishop Bosco is able to commit to them. This list is items that the school & orphanage need: Backpacks

You can find cheap, used luggage at your local Good Will, Salvation Army, or similar thrift stores. Pick a couple of inexpensive bags and then leave them in Uganda when you depart. Pack your bags with at least 45 lbs (20 kg), but no more than 50 lbs (22.5 kg), of items. Create a simple packing list for each bag so that you know what things are
in each of your bags. Remember, your checked luggage must conform to airline regulations: Length + Width + Height = 62 inches No more than 50 LBS/22.5 KG - Weigh your luggage before arriving at the airport
