Dartmouth, Harvard and Princeton, picked to finish fifth, first and first, are one game back at 2-2 apiece. It marks the first time since 1961 (Columbia), 2000 (Cornell) and 2007 (Yale) these teams are in first place this late in the season. With its win over Columbia, Yale claimed its 900th all-time victory. The Bulldogs are the third team in Division I history to accomplish the feat, joining Michigan and Notre Dame. Yale RB Zane Dudek was named the STATS FCS Rookie of the Week. He is the fourth Ivy to earn a STATS FCS national weekly honor, joining Dartmouth’s Jeremiah Douchee (Special Teams, S25), Columbia’s Michael Murphy (Defensive, Oct. 16) and Princeton’s Chad Kanoff (Offensive, Oct. 23). North Carolina Central heads to Hampton in a critical match-up while North Carolina A&T State tries to remain in the driver’s seat as they return to the field with a trip to Norfolk State. Howard is looking for its first winning season since 2012 as they battle Florida A&M but more importantly, the Bison need to win in order to remain in the top three. North Carolina A&T State is the only MEAC team with an undefeated overall record while North Carolina Central, Hampton and Howard are the only other MEAC teams that have a winning record. While its early, the Aggies will possibly have to deal with the pressure of chasing history as only two teams in NCAT history have finished undefeated (1927, 1943). With Savannah State’s win over Norfolk State last weekend, no MEAC team will finish winless for the first time since 2015. Two teams (North Carolina A&T State, South Carolina State) feature defensive units ranked in the top 10 nationally. NCAT is No. 5 while South Carolina State ranks seventh. The Aggies are equally impressive on the offensive side of the ball as they rank No. 2 in team passing efficiency. Off: WR Jacen Murphy. The Ram-Crusader Cup game will stream live on the PLN, WatchStadium.com and on Twitter via @WatchStadium. Georgetown hosts Lafayette at Cooper Field, with live streaming coverage on the PLN beginning at 2 p.m. Colgate moved to the top of the Patriot League football standings with a 40-3 win over Bucknell and Lehigh’s 45-35 loss to Fordham last Saturday. Despite the Raiders’ current placement in the standings, Lehigh and Lafayette are the only two Patriot League squads that control their own destiny for a League Championship. The Mountain Hawks’ week six victory over Colgate means they can claim their second-consecutive League title by winning their remaining games against Bucknell, Holy Cross and Lafayette. The Leopards can clinch its first League title since 2013 by defeating Georgetown, Colgate and Lehigh. The Raiders would need to win out and a Lehigh in one of its final three games to claim the crown. Fordham sophomore running back D’Angelo Palladino shined in place of injured starter Chase Edmonds in a win over Lehigh, rushing for an FCS season-high 297 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries. The sophomore more than doubled his previous season rushing yards total with his outburst. Palladino was able to outrush Lehigh junior Dom Bragalone, who tallied 218 yards on 27 carries. PFL -- The marquee PFL matchup in Week 10 is the nightcap between Drake and San Diego. The Toreros, unbeaten in their last 18 PFL contests, would clinch a share of their ninth league title with a victory. Meanwhile, a Bulldogs win would create a tie atop the league standings with two weeks remaining in the regular season.
San Diego posted its 18th consecutive PFL victory with a Week 9 win at Stetson. It is the second longest active conference win streak in Division I entering Week 10, trailing only Ohio Valley Conference member Jacksonville State’s 29-game conference win streak. Dayton blocked its sixth kick of the season in its Week 9 contest against Butler. The Flyers now rank second among FCS teams in blocked kicks, behind only South Carolina State (nine blocked kicks). Redshirt freshman Matt Clifford has blocked two kicks in 2017, one of only 23 FCS defenders to block multiple kicks. During its Week 9 win against Morehead State, Valparaiso became the fourth PFL team to record multiple defensive touchdowns in 2017. The Crusaders joined Campbell (four), Marist and Stetson (two each) as teams with multiple defensive scores this season. Campbell is one of 11 FCS squads with four or more defensive touchdowns this season. OFF – QB Jimmy Seewald, Valparaiso | DEF – DB Will Warner, Drake | ST – P Charles Morris, Davidson

For its efforts in the 28-6 win over Western Carolina, Furman moved into the STATS FCS Top 25 at No. 23, while the Catamounts dropped to No. 24 from 18 in the poll. After opening the season 0-3, the Paladins have won six straight contests for the first time since 2005. Furman is ranked for the first time since the 2014 campaign. Chattanooga got a game-winning field goal from freshman Victor Ulmo with 19 seconds left to down Samford in Birmingham, Alabama, 23-21. A pair of SoCon student-athletes appeared on the initial STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award watch list, announced Oct. 25. Furman linebacker Reynard Ellis and Mercer quarterback Kaelan Riley are both in the running for the national freshman of the year award. Wofford’s next league win will be its 100th since joining the SoCon in 1997. The Terriers are 99-61 (.619) all-time in league play, good for the best conference winning percentage among current SoCon schools. Since the start of the 2013 season, 66 of 150 (.440) league games have been decided by one possession, including 12 of 26 (.462) this season. OFF – Antonio Wilcox, RB, Furman | DEF: Tae Davis, LB, Chattanooga | ST: Victor Ulmo, K, Chattanooga SOUTHLAND -- Central Arkansas and Sam Houston State both posted wins over top Southland teams in week nine to stay at No. 4 and 5, respectively, in both the FCS Coaches Poll and STATS Poll. Nicholls improved to No. 17 in the coaches poll while McNeese is ranked at No. 22 in both. The Southland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week Desmond Hite of UIW tied a single-season conference record with his third kickoff return touchdown of 2017, registering a 100-yard return score against Nicholls last Saturday. The Bears now rank third in the Southland in scoring offense (37.0 points per game) and overtook McNeese for first place in scoring defense (16.2 points per game). Three of the top nine individual scorers in the conference that are not kickers are from Sam Houston State: Davion Davis (1st, 9 TDs), Corey Avery (4th, 8 TDs), Nathan Stewart (9th, 7 TDs). OFF: Hayden Hildebrand, Central Arkansas | DEF: George Odum, Central Arkansas | ST: Desmond Hite, UIW SWAC -- Despite being winless, Texas Southern will look to utilize last season’s success in their match up with Mississippi Valley State as the Tigers were able to come away with a 31-0 victory in 2016 against the Delta Devils. Mississippi Valley State junior linebacker Patrick Harbin continues to lead the conference in both tackles (67) and tackles per game (8.4 per game). Since taking over head coaching duties at Alabama State, Donald Hill-Eley and the Hornets have strung together back-to-back victories. Jackson State is coming off a week in which it allowed a season-low five points in their victory against Mississippi Valley State. The Tigers surrendered just 105 total yards of offense including 10 first downs. Alabama A&M remains the least sacked team in the conference as the Bulldogs have allowed a league-low 11 sacks.
