EFBC Plainsmen Football Partnership for Success IMDAL Plainsmen Football The partnership between athletes, coaches and parents is critically important to the success of the athletes and athletic program and to the school’s mission to develop champions on and off the field. In an effort to facilitate healthy and honorable relationships among all the participants, the following guidelines have been established. These areas of focus will ultimately produce success, while building a powerful image that will impact the Enid community in a positive way. By striving to reach these goals, our school will also be able to bolster, strengthen and fulfill the mission statement of our football program while providing a model for the development of the student-athlete. Plainsmen Football Coach Commitment • I will daily strive to be a “Transformational Coach” who cares deeply for each student-athlete --first as a human being and second as an athlete. • I am responsible to select student-athletes who represent the Enid mission statement and who have the ability to contribute to the team. • I will use a holistic approach when evaluating a student-athlete, using qualities such as character, integrity, leadership, coach-ability and love for the sport, as well as athletic ability. • I will create an environment absent of entitlement based on contributions, status or influence within the program. • I will instruct student-athletes using positive methods to create an ideal learning environment. • I am committed to the total development of my athletes, both as players and as people. • I will provide an open line of communication with student-athletes, which allows for questions and feedback with the goal of improvement. • I will approach parents individually or collectively to pass along necessary feedback during the season. Athletes will also be encouraged to accurately communicate with their parents about their experiences on the team. • I will take the responsibility to select team captains who will best emulate the core values expected in the Enid Football Program • I will create and implement a meaningful practice structure to enhance instruction, development and effective use of time for all teams within the program. • I will work toward the desired outcome of developing total athletes to become champions for life. • I understand that coaching at Enid is a privilege and not a right.
