Savings on your January bill There are some changes to your bill in January – all of them savings – that were recently approved by the Florida Public Service Commission. One-time fuel credit – You will receive a one-time fuel charge credit on your January 2010 bill, which appears as a line item called “Fuel credit.” The exact credit is calculated based on your actual kilowatt-hour usage in the January bill. While the amount of the fuel-charge credit normally would have been spread over the course of 12 months, in this case it will all be credited in January. “Customers are seeing the benefit not only of lower fuel prices but also our investments in modern, more fuel-efficient power plants,” said FPL President and CEO Armando Olivera. FPL does not make a profit on the fuel it purchases to produce electricity. For more information, visit www.FPL.com/fuelrebate. Fuel adjustment – The fuel charge on 2010 business electric bills is lower, reflecting lower fuel prices and fuel savings associated with FPL’s investments in modern, more-efficient power plants. Go to www.FPL.com/rates for more detailed information. Non-fuel recovery clauses adjustment – The non-fuel clauses also are lower in 2010. These include the costs of conservation and environmental compliance programs as a general cost of producing electricity and delivering it to your business. Go to www.FPL.com/rates for more detailed information. Energy notes | January 2010

Always call before you dig Smart digging means knowing where underground utility lines are buried before you dig. This helps protect you and your employees from injury and reduces the risk of damaging underground facilities. To avoid potential injuries, costly repairs and construction delays, be sure to call Sunshine State One Call of Florida at 811 or 1-800-432-4770 at least two business days before any excavation work as required by Florida statute.
