EWING GREEN TEAM Working Towards Building a Sustainable Ewing

SUSTAINABLE EWING GREEN TEAM ROLES WHAT: LIVING LOCAL EXPO DATE: MARCH 23, 2013 WHERE: LAWRENCE HIGH SCHOOL, LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ GT MEMBERS INVOLVED & SUMMARY OF THEIR ROLES JOHN HOEGL John reached out to TCNJ Bonner Scholars and Mercer County to vigorously promote a county-wide green fair; then defaulted to Lawrence experience. He then solicited Ewing businesses including three new ones (Capital Health Systems, Frontier airlines and River Horse Brewery) as well as local car dealers. He attended 9 (most) planning meetings. Businesses that came out for John included Ewing Glass, Solar Dynamics and the local VW Audi and Honda car dealers. He also posted signs at Ewing intersections including by the Municipal Bldg. He also connected the Expo organizers with to the Ewing Observer.

PETE BOUGHTON Pete participated in 2 planning meetings and called 10 families for the neighbor to neighbor energy efficiency campaign. He also promoted the event by email to environmental commissioners and the expanded green team list of about 175 people. He also promoted verbally at the Green Team general and leader meetings.

MARY JANE LEACH Mary Jane participated in 6 planning meetings, helped compose the neighbor letter, called 10 neighbors and solicited 5 nonprofits and school groups and several local farmers, and arranged for 5 TCNJ student volunteers. She also arranged for the Mercer 4H participation.

JOANNE MULLOWNEY Joanne participated in 1 planning meeting, parsed the list of Mercer homeowners and businesses receiving energy rebates to identify Ewing residents, fleshed out contact information, composed and mailed the 72 neighbor letters, coordinated the division of the call list, made 40 calls to inform Ewing residents about the Fair and solicit neighbors for the Neighbor Campaign. She also promoted the Expo on our Facebook and websites.

LISA FELDMAN Lisa manned the neighbor table for 2 hours at the fair to engage homeowners in discussions. Ewinggreenteam.wordpress.com
