Ms. Shawn & Ms. Pam Ms. LeAnn & Ms. Christy Ms. LeAnn & Ms. Christy’s 4-year old class has been spending the first 9weeks of school talking about School and being introduced and welcomed to their new Classroom. They have discussed Feelings and what Friends can do together and how we treat our friends. They have talked about the Alphabet and have recognized the first letter of their Names. They are learning the difference between the Capital and Lowercase letters in their names also. They have had discussions and demonstrations about different Shapes: circles, ovals, triangles, rectangles, and squares. They are also learning about Rhyming and words that sound the same. They have talked about Position words: above, below, top, middle, and bottom. Ask your child about what he or she does every day at school! You’ll be amazed to hear all about the exciting things they have to tell you!
Ms. Shawna & Ms. Pam’s 4-year old class started the year off with the Welcome to School theme. They introduced themselves to classmates and read stories about Feelings and how to express them. Books were read about making Friends and how we work and play together. They also talked about things we see and do at school. The children have been learning to recognize their Names and they were introduced to the Alphabet, Shapes, 3-D Shapes, and many Positional Words. They have also talked about My Family and My Community. The class made books about their family that showed how many are in their family and things they like to do with them. They talked about things that they see in our community and if they have a neighbor that lives beside them. They discussed the Community Helpers and how they help us in our community. They even had a couple of our community helpers come to visit the classroom. The children have been introduced to the letters S and P. They have sung songs and practiced writing these letters. In Math they have matched one to one, counted sets, and talked about how many objects were in the set. They used Vocabulary words like equal, fewer, more, and same. They discussed Ordinal Positions: first, middle, and last; and Ordinal Numbers: first, second, third, fourth, and fifth. Since Fall has arrived, they have been discussing some signs that show us the change in season such as cooler temperatures and leaves changing colors. They even cut open a persimmon to see what was inside and they found a spoon which means lots of snow for the winter. They are learning so much and have so much more to learn too! Next up...our Five Senses!

[email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Ms. Mary & Ms. Teresa Ms. Mary & Ms. Teresa’s 3-year old class has been spending the first 9-weeks of school talking about Classroom Rules and how to use Centers. They have discussed Who they are and how unique and different they are from everyone else. They took a Nature Walk one day and used 4 of their 5 Senses: they looked, touched, heard, and smelled the things around the school. In the classroom, they tasted different things and discussed how they tasted. They collected leaves and made a fox out of them also. They have talked about Families and made family trees at home to hang around the room. What a wonderful way to learn about all their new friends in their new classroom! They have been playing games with the colors Brown and Blue, and have been doing activities with the numbers 0 and 1. They are now learning about Communities and the people in them, while making lots of spooky crafts and decorating for Halloween. Take a look around when you come to visit and see all of the great things that are happening in your child’s classroom this year!
Ms. Robin & Ms. Pat Ms. Robin’s 2 1/2-year old class has been talking about Families and where they go as a family and what they do together. They have planted flowers outside on the playground that look so pretty and are learning how to care for Plants by watering them every day. The first 9weeks has been a time to get to know one another and learn about their new Classroom and daily Schedule. Ms. Pat comes to help Ms. Robin’s class every day in the morning. Stop by anytime to see what they’re up to and visit your child if you can during the day. It would be a pleasant surprise for them to see you!
