Materials Needed:
Outline: Note: This outline is intended as a guide. Feel free to add, subtract, or re-arrange topics based on the needs of your staff/area. Please note that some of these topics may be discussed by the professional staff member in your area. 1. Fire Safety, Alarms & Drills a. Fire Safety Inspections and the importance of them. Pass around example forms and ask for any questions. Fire Safety Inspections occur during the first two weeks of class. The information that follows provided detailed information about fire safety inspections b. Fire Alarm procedure – Walk your staff through the fire alarm procedure. This varies by building, so you will need to consult with your professional staff (some may do this part of the training). Included in the fire alarm procedure should be an actual look at the fire panel in the office, a pull station, and any other necessary fire equipment in your building. Also point out the location of the Fire Department Keys and the MSDS binder. c. Fire Drill – Set a date for your fire drill to occur. Point out any variations in the procedure between a fire drill and an actual alarm (again, varies by area). d. Fire Panel and logging when the panel goes off
