Flow Assurance Technical Section Multiphase Flow, Flow Assurance, Dynamic Modeling…Why Bother? Presenter: Sam Kashou, Chevron Energy Technology Company B.S in ME from University of Tulsa M.S. ME from Michigan Tech University

Sam is a member of Chevron Flow Assurance team providing technical support in large development projects in the areas of flow assurance and operability for concept selection, front-end engineering and design, and detailed design, using Software like OLGA, PVTsim, Pipephase, etc. Worked on Numerous Chevron Projects and have developed courses for new Chevron engineers and taught numerous OLGA and Pipephase schools throughout Chevron. Sam is member of BHRG international technical committee and SPE.

The presentation investigates Multiphase Flow and Flow Assurance and their importance. It will briefly discuss how the oil and gas industry is addressing Multiphase Flow and Flow assurance within projects, the technology that is being used to solve the Flow Assurance issues, and what are the future needs and what Engineers can do to narrow the Flow Assurance gaps. The current research activities are discussed along with understanding the uncertainties encompassing Flow Assurance measurements and predictions.
