ABOUT DAYTON Dayton (4-12) hasn’t played a game since March 4 after having its March 7 doubleheader at Eastern Kentucky rescheduled. The Flyers are currently suffering a seven-game losing streak after downing San Diego, 3-2, on Feb. 23. UD is led offensively by junior Kyle Davidson with a .326 average (14th A-10) and 15 hits, including five doubles. In the circle, senior Manda Cash holds the team’s low ERA of 1.29 (1st A-10) and has tallied 44 strikeouts (3rd A-10) on the season. SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE Wright State (6-14) is coming off back-to-back wins over Charleston and Winthrop in last weekend’s Holy City Showdown in Charleston, South Carolina. After dropping their first 11 games, the Raiders have now won six of their last nine outings. WSU is led by Honnah Susor with a .339 average, that includes a team-high 19 hits, and she has also scored a teambest 14 runs. Ashley Sharp leads the WSU pitching corps with a 4.18 ERA and 35 strikeouts. SERIES STUFF One of Dayton’s most-played opponents, Wright State leads the all-time series between the two teams, 54-34-2. The Raiders have won the last six meetings in a long-running series that dates back to 1984. In their last match-up, Wright State claimed a narrow 6-5 win in Fairborn. RPI RANKINGS In the NCAA’s final Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2017 season, Dayton came in at 174 according to NCAA.com. Wright State finished 2017 ranked 214. STAR IN THE CIRCLE Senior Manda Cash, the 2016 A-10 Pitcher of the Year, has already made her mark on the Dayton record book and continues to climb the rankings. She became Dayton’s all-time career strikeouts leader on the first day of the 2018 season and now has 598 career strikeouts. Additionally, Cash’s 4.10 strikeoutto-walk ratio is the all-time best career average and her career ERA of 1.87 ranks fourth all-time in program history.
