FOX SPORTS CONCLUDES 2015 USGA CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON BROADCAST SCHEDULE WITH THE 115th U.S. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP Record Coverage Includes 19 Hours of Championship Play Across Multiple Platforms, Most in U.S. Amateur History FOX Sports GO Streams All Live Broadcasts, Including Bonus Coverage on usga.org Thursday and Sunday New York – Approaching its final on-air presentation of USGA championship golf for the 2015 season, FOX Sports today announced the television schedule for next week’s 115th U.S. Amateur Championship at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill. The programming effort is highlighted by 19 hours of golf action across the FOX broadcast network, FOX Sports 1 and usga.org, in addition to continuous live streaming available throughout the championship on FOX Sports GO. Coverage begins with the first round of match play on Wednesday, August 19, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1 and airs in that window on the network through the quarterfinal matches on Friday, August 21. The FOX broadcast network airs the semifinal matches live on Saturday, August 22 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM ET, and the championship concludes with live coverage of the final 36-hole match on Sunday, August 23 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM ET. Bonus coverage during the round of 32 airs on USGA.org, Thursday, August 20, from 11:00 to 1:00 PM ET, while championship match bonus coverage streams from 11:15 AM to 1:15 PM ET Sunday, August 23. Seven-time Emmy-Award winning announcer Joe Buck serves as lead announcer and is joined by lead analyst and two-time major champion Greg Norman as well as analyst and eight-time victor on the PGA Tour Brad Faxon in the 18th Tower. Also joining coverage is rules expert and former USGA executive director David Fay, while Holly Sonders conducts post-round interviews and hosts on-site studio coverage. A trio of reporters provide insights from the course; three-time PGA Tour winner Scott McCarron, FOXSports.com reporter Shane Bacon and Buddy Marucci, a veteran of over 60 USGA championships and one of the greatest career amateur golfers of the modern era. At 43, Marucci finished as runner-up in the 1995 U.S. Amateur, an iconic championship where he battled a 19-year-old Tiger Woods to the final hole in match play. - more -
