FRESHFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL Weekly Newsletter Friday 11th November 2016 Dear Parents, “The best classroom is roofed only by the sky” (McMillan) What a great week we have had, putting our growth mindset work and our School Values into action. “This week was great, I’ve seen animals I have never seen

before, like a baby monkey and a giant lizard.” Owen (Y2) “Working together means sharing

ideas and our shelter was much better as a result of this.” Holly (Y6) “Sometimes experiencing things is more enjoyable and it makes it much easier to know what to write afterwards.” Monica (Y6) “I managed to stroke the snake’s scaly body, I am going to touch its head next time.” Cody (Y2)

“I loved making the den and collecting the leaves and sticks.” Franek (Reception) “It was so exciting to make a pretend Great Fire of London…. with a real fire!” Abigail (Y1)

“This is the best week I have ever had in school!” Victoria (Y4)

Sometimes the children say it best!

Attendance: The adjacent graph shows the attendance for last week. The target for the whole school is 100%, we achieved 94.9%; a number of children were off School with a vomiting bug last week which goes some way to explaining the lower than average attendance. We wish the children a speedy recovery. Congratulations to Class 7 who achieved 100%. Mrs Ward
