FROM THE PASTOR’S OFFICE

Dear Church Family, As we reflect on the tragic events of the past few months – the devastation from multiple hurricanes and fires, the shooting in Las Vegas, and in our own Coral Ridge family, the sudden loss of our Pastor’s youngest daughter, Lilianne, we are reminded of the necessity of the Church in a hurting and broken world. We often lose sight of the unique role of the Church in any given community. The Church exists to: • • • • • • • •

Call people together weekly to worship God Offer the message of freedom and forgiveness through Jesus Christ Train the next generation as they develop a worldview Seek to serve the needs of its city Support young families raising their children Bring the lonely together into fellowship Fight for justice for the vulnerable of our society Counsel the hurting

This list is just the beginning. Only the Church has been called and positioned to answer the myriad of needs in a world that is broken. In the aftermath of devastating destruction from the recent hurricanes, the headline in The Washington Post read “Christians beat FEMA.” They went on to report that the Church was outgiving the federal government 80% to 20% in the early stages of relief. As you know, Coral Ridge continues to play a role in this effort both at home and abroad. One lady we served said, “Government agencies and charities come and go but the Church remains; it’s my rock.” Jesus said, “I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail.” That is an incredible promise! The Church truly is the hope of the world. As Jesus builds, He doesn’t do it alone. In fact, the Apostle Paul calls Christians “Co-laborers with God.” Isn’t that amazing? In the most unchurched region in the nation, one of the most important investments you can make right now is in your local church. How will He use you and your gifts for such a time as this? For almost 60 years, Coral Ridge has been a beacon of hope to our community. It has played a critical role in millions of lives both locally and globally. We celebrate and thank God for the

work that He has done and look forward by faith to the work that is yet to be done. What an incredible privilege we have to partner with God in the gospel ministry right here in our city. When you give to Coral Ridge, you change lives now and for all eternity. Your financial support literally affects destiny. In light of the generosity we have experienced through Christ, would you respond with a one-time gift over and above your regular offering? All financial gifts must be received or postmarked no later than December 31st in order to receive tax credit for 2017. In addition to giving on Sunday morning, you can send your gift by mail using the enclosed envelope or give online at crpc.org/give. Thank you for your support and continued encouragement as we co-labor with God to reconcile people and renew all things through the ministry of Coral Ridge. For Christ and His Church, The Elders of Coral Ridge on behalf of Pastor Rob Pacienza P.S. As we approach year-end, how might God use you to accomplish His work here at Coral Ridge? Thank you in advance for your support!

A Gospel-centered church that offers hope to South Florida through the reconciliation of people and the renewal of all things.
