FUNDAMENTALS OF MONTESSORI EDUCATION COURSE June 22nd through June 26th
Course Description
The Fundamentals of Montessori Education course is an ideal foundation for assistants at every level, administrators, parents, educators, and anyone interested in a general overview of Montessori Education. The course is designed to help adults learn more about children from birth to maturity. The training course will emphasize Montessori theory and principles, rather than specific classroom practices, and will help interested adults understand the importance of their role as assistants to a child’s development.
Course Overview
Lectures, seminars, and guided reading, on the fundamental theories and practice of Montessori Education including: History of Montessori Education Human Tendencies Planes of Development Role of the Guide and Assistant Freedom and Discipline Social Implications Curriculum areas across the Planes of Development

COURSE INSTRUCTOR: MARY RAUDONIS LOEW Mary Raudonis Loew has been working in the field of Montessori education since 1963 when she received AMI primary training in Washington, DC. She has 23 years of classroom experience and has established primary training courses in 3 different cities. Mary has assisted in the start up of numerous schools and has 11 years experience as a School Director. She has served as Director of Training for courses in Atlanta, Cleveland and Dallas, and was the Executive Director of the Montessori Institute of Dallas for nine years. She has a special interest in the development of programs for adolescents, which is one of the many reasons why we are so excited that she has chosen to partner with Great Work. Mary currently works as a Montessori classroom guide.
