Give A Coat • Get A Subscription The News Observer is again offering a one-year subscription* in return for a NEW coat that will be given to a child in need!
NEW COAT DRIVE PARTNER WALMART OF BLUE RIDGE
The News Observer welcomes the Blue Ridge Walmart store as a new partner for our coat drive. Coats can be dropped off at the Walmart service desk, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, from October 1st through October 15th. Walmart also made the first donations of coats for this year’s drive. Walmart Manager Connie Lambert, in left in photo at right, and Assistant Manager Crystal Huff presented several new coats to Publisher Glenn Harbison.
COATS WILL BE ACCEPTED OCTOBER 1st thru OCTOBER 15th Coats can be dropped off at The News Observer office between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, October 1st – 15th, 2014

Coats can be dropped off at the Service Desk at Walmart in Blue Ridge 24-hours a day / 7 days a week October 1st – 15th, 2014
Everyone who donates a NEW coat will receive a one-year subscription to The News Observer. Store tags MUST be attached to coats.

Coats will be distributed at the Kiwanis Club Fairgrounds Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday October 20-21, 23-24 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. All children who need a coat can come by and get one. Families who sign up for the Fannin County Empty Stocking Program should bring their Empty Stocking Registration Form.
PLEASE DONATE WINTER COATS ONLY! No windbreakers or light jackets. Also, in years past, we have a special need for adult sizes to fit teenage youngsters.
IF YOU CAN, PLEASE DONATE TWO COATS FOR YOUR ONE-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION. EVERYONE WHO GIVES A COAT CAN RECEIVE A ONE-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION TO THE NEWS OBSERVER.*Every subscriber to one of the following zip codes will receive the in-print and online newspaper: 30513; 30555; 30560; 30559; 30541; 30522; 37317; 37326; 37391; 37333; 30514; 30512; 30572. All other zip codes will receive the e-edition only.
