Greencastle Youth Softball Association offers both slow and fast pitch recreation softball leagues for girls ages 4-20 each spring. $60.00 Registration and fee per player with $45.00 for additional child/ Discount if playing in multiple leagues including Fastpitch, Slow pitch, Instructional League, and GMS Registration forms with payment may be dropped off at Greencastle McDonalds during the following dates February 3rd from 10am to 2pm

Voluntarily and to my own free will elect to participate as a member of the softball team and league described below. I understand that there are certain risks and hazards involved in participation in softball including, but not limited to those hazards associated with weather conditions, playing conditions, equipment, etc., such as pitching, throwing, fielding and catching of the ball, the swinging of the bat, running, jumping, stretching, sliding, diving and collisions with other players and with sedentary objects, all of which can cause serious injury or death to me and to other players. Further, I agree that in consideration for the right to play as a member of the team designated below and in consideration for permission to play on the field arranged for by the team or league. I voluntarily elect or accept and solely assume all risks or damages, injury, including death incurred or suffered by me (a.) while practicing or playing as members of the team so designated. (b.) while serving in a non-playing capacity as a team member or observer during practice of play by other teams or by other players on my team, and (c.) while on or upon the premise of any and all of the fields arranged for my my team or league for practice or play. 2). I release, discharge and agree that to sue the team and/or league designed below or any owner or leaser of fields on which softball is played or practiced by my team or the Amateur Softball Association of America, in their owners, officers, agents, servants, associations, employees, or any person or entity connected with the team, league, field or the Amateur Softball Association of American for any harm, damages, costs or cause or action which I have or may in the future have as a result of injuries or damages sustained or incurred by me from whatever cause including, but not limited to the negligence, breach of contract or wrongful conduct of the parties hereby released. I further agree that I shall hold harmless and fully indemnify the parties hereby released from any claims, damages, cost including attorney fees, and cause of action which may arise from any claim or cause to action made by me, through me or on my behalf even if the damages, injuries or death are caused in whole or in part by any of the parties or entities herby released. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND THAT I UNDERSTAND EACH AND EVERY WORD OF THE ABOVE PROVISIONS IN THIS WAIVER. RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT AND AGREE TO ABIDE BY THEM.

Instructional League Age Group 4 through 6 as of 1/1/18 The GYSA Instructional League consists of players from ages 4 to 6 and is the result of a combined effort between both the Fastpitch and Slow Pitch Divisions. The Instructional League merges the previous Slow Pitch Pigtail Division with the younger age players in Fastpitch. The Instructional League will focus on developing basic skills for both Fastpitch and Slow Pitch including throwing, catching, and hitting. Additionally, basic game situations will be taught including base running and fielding plays. Batters will have the ability to hit live pitching from coaches in each at bat, as well as have the opportunity to hit off of a tee if no contact is made after a number of pitches. In order to introduce beginning players to the fun and excitement of game situations, scores will be kept and run rules will be in effect.

12u ...... 11 – 12 as of 1/1/18 16u ...... 13 – 16 as of 1/1/18

Fastpitch registrations are due by March 18th (no exceptions). Practices will start the week of March 19th with opening day scheduled for Saturday April 14th.

Slow Pitch draft day is April 7th followed by practices starting the week of April 9th. Opening day is scheduled for Saturday May 19th.
