Thank you for taking a moment to consider an incredible opportunity for the young men in your congregation. Four years ago the leadership of Westhill made a decision to become proactive with the God-given talent, and responsibilities that had been placed in their hands. Those decisions led to the creation of the Leadership Initiative. The Leadership Initiative is a weekend retreat designed to create an environment for young men ages 13-20 to learn how to GROW, CONNECT, & LEAD. GROW into the men God wants them to be through an in-depth study of God’s Word and hands-on application of the lessons learned. CONNECT to great leaders in the faith as well as like-minded young men to develop crucial friendships. LEAD souls closer to the Lord with confidence. This year’s retreat will include speakers from Westhill’s talented group of Deacons as well as our guest Spencer Ross, the youth and family minister at the Keller church of Christ. Our theme is Reboot, resetting our passions to the manufacturer’s default. Following the lead of Chris Clevenger in his book Sons of Dust, we will look back to the second chapter of Genesis to learn and cultivate the God-shaped character of Adam, challenging these young men to live up to their God-given potential. In addition to gaining valuable lessons at the feet of faithful men they will also be learning valuable lessons from one another. They will separate into teams and compete against each other, accomplish tasks, tackle real issues facing the church, all while eating far better than they deserve.
