Hawaiian Applique Class Supply List Class Description: Have you wanted to learn the art of hand applique to determine if it is your cup of tea? Perfect the needle turn applique method by making just one Hawaiian block. From there you may even want to make an entire quilt. Here is your chance. Then come join the fun!
In this class: Learn to design an original cut-away border Learn to make a template and mark your block Learn about different needles and threads Make inside and outside points and curves improving you skills with each stitch

Supplies:
Book: Hawaiian Quilting by Elizabeth Root 20” of background fabric for each block (you can get 2 out of WOF) 20” square or fat quarter of fabric for each Hawaiian design or block Freezer paper the size of a fat quarter (18” x 22”) YLI #100 silk thread to match Hawaiian design fabric Straw needles #11 or #10 Jeanna Kimball’s (teacher’s preference) Thimble (optional) Pigma pen or white Sewline pencil
Notes:
If make a large quilt, you will need fabric the length of desired block arrangement plus the width of desired borders, two opposite borders of the quilt and more if mitering For example, If you make 9 blocks with a finished size o 18” and a 10” border mitered, then you would need 3 yards for the background of the blocks, an additional 3 yards for the background of the border, and 2.5 yards of the Hawaiian print for the border plus binding and backing.
