HOST GUIDE

Hello, lovely hosts. Welcome to the Woman Camp experience! We’re delighted to have you as part of the team. This guide describes your role as a Campsite Host, including a pre-camp checklist, a description of Woman Camp and a sequence of events, campfire conversation prompts and some bits of inspiration. Thank you for jumping into Woman Camp with a full and open heart. We expect Jesus will be making appearances left and right, and it’s going to be magical to see it all unfold.

ROLE OF A CAMPSITE HOST Cultivate a sense of belonging by making every guest feel known and loved. Build a campsite environment that creates space for intimate conversations and moments of authenticity and beauty. Model vulnerability by leading with your own stories, fears, enthusiasms and hopes. Listen well, ask questions, and freely give encouragement. Dissuade negativity, gossip and complain fests. Foster kindness, grace and laughter. Invite growth. Encourage women to take this unique chance away from everyday routine to tether to God in a new way. Freedom awaits! OTHER WOMAN CAMP ROLES Prayer Warriors have a powerful role at Woman Camp —to minister to Woman Camp guests— praying with them, repenting alongside them, and ushering in the dynamite Holy Spirit. Prayer Warrior’s are available for everyone and will be integrated throughout the camp experience. Lead Team will be floating around camp, running the agenda and guiding projects, and answering any day-of questions you might have. Medics will graciously handle any health-related concerns or emergencies.

The heart of Woman Camp is in all of us getting close to Jesus and unveiling our true selves in community. If camp just becomes about tent comparison and lady power then we’ve missed the boat. So, as a Campsite Host, you get to help unlock the true heart! Not every conversation that happens at your campsite needs to be crazy deep, and you definitely aren’t meant to be a counselor. Rather, you get to set the tone for authentic conversations and point women toward Jesus.

BEFORE CAMP CHECKLIST

Email your guests ASAP; they’ve been waiting and are excited to hear from you. This is how they find out whose group they’re in, and that you are their Host.

Set up one pre-camp meeting with your campsite guests. At the pre-camp meeting: give a quick overview of the experience, decide which two cars you’ll use for carpool and where you’ll meet each other, exchange cell numbers, make a plan for gear-sharing and food (potluck? solo?), and pray together.

Help people find gear if they need it. Borrowing is key. Answer follow-up questions, promptly, via email and phone. We want women to know they are loved!

Pray for your women by name. YOU are the point of contact for your guests.
