Remember, depending on where you’re pitching, you may or may not have to write the finished article yourself. Chances are a pro journalist will interview you to craft the piece. 3. As always, go niche. Get specific. Don’t make the mistake of doing a broad, boring generalized piece. Instead, cover only a small portion of the subject but really add something meaningful to the discussion. Don’t regurgitate the usual advice — share how a surprising tweak made all the difference for you. 4. Make sure to include at least one image. I like to add about 2-3 images (that are sized so that they’re all about the same size) into the body of the pitch, NOT AS ATTACHMENTS.
