Class Name: Advanced Sewing Techniques Teacher Name: Debby Carter
Class Description: Have you been wanting to make your own clothing, but are unsure of many of the skills needed? Do you think “Buttons and zippers and darts – oh my!” Enhance your sewing skills and confidence as you learn advanced clothing construction techniques. You must have taken Beginning Sewing 101 or be confident with basic sewing techniques. Required Supplies: -
Sewing machine in good working order, power cord, foot pedal All the feet with come with your machine (ie. All-purpose foot, Zipper foot, buttonhole foot, ¼" foot) Your Sewing Machine Manual One cotton fat quarter to use as pressing cloth At least one extra bobbin Three spools of thread – different colors Seam ripper Scissors for cutting threads Scissors for cutting fabric Rotary cutter Straight pins Fabric marking tools: chalk, pencil, pen A three-ring notebook with plastic sleeves for technique samples
NOTES: The instructor will provide a kit ($20 fee) that will contain all the fabric and supplies you will need to learn the techniques.
