IMMIGRANTS IN NEVADA: VITAL TO OUR ECONOMIC FUTURE The state of Nevada benefits from the presence of immigrants, who provide vital contributions to the economy and community life. •

In Nevada 19.3% of the population and 24.8% of the labor force is foreign-born.



Over half of the immigrant population are homeowners (55%) .



40% of children in Nevada live with at least one foreign-born parent. 86.8% of these children are citizens of the United States by birth.



Of Nevada’s immigrant population, 84% is of working age (between 16 and 64 years of age).



7% of Nevada’s immigrant labor force is self-employed.



37.3% of immigrants work in the Arts, Entertainment, Recreation, Accommodation and Food Services industry.

Foreign-born workers are well represented within central industries in the state such as entertainment (38.1%). Industries with the Highest Proportion of Immigrant Workers Arts, Entertainment, Recreation, Accommodations and Food Services
