Equipment and Uniforms 1. Teams are encouraged to wear similar colored shirts. A team can choose to wear their own similar colored shirts, or to wear colored pinnies, to be provided by NWC RecSports, during Intramural Indoor Soccer contests. 2. The Field of Play 1. Court Size - 96' x 113' 2. Goalie Box - 18' x 36' 3. Goal - 13' wide by 5' high 4. The two basketball courts will be in-bounds. 5. A ball out-of-bounds along the side lines (red surface) will be placed at the spot where it went out and the opposing team will take the ball in with an indirect free kick. The defense needs to stay between the ball and their goal on a free kick. 6. A ball out-of-bounds along the end lines (east/west ends) will be placed along the side line just outside the goal box. The opposing team will take it in with an indirect free kick and the defense needs to be between the ball and their goal. 7. The ball is out of play when it completely crosses the green boundary.

No Show/Late Start 1. If a team is not present and ready to play by the scheduled game time (checked in, warmed up, minimum number of players on the field) the opposing team shall be awarded a point, given the ball, and choice of goal. 2. If after 5 minutes a team is not ready to play the game will be forfeited. Starting the game 1. Captains will rock-paper-scissors to determine possession. Timing 1. Games shall consist of two 14 minute running clock halves. There will be a 3 minute halftime. 2. Game time is the scheduled league time, unless the previous game goes over the allotted time. Time-outs 1. There will be no time outs except for injuries. Mercy Rule 1. There is no mercy rule. Substitutions 1. Substitutions may be made anytime during the game when the ball is on your half of the court. The clock does not stop. The player must be off the court before the substitute enters. Penalties 1. The games will be self-officiated. Players are responsible for making their own calls. Play it straight, keep it clean, keep it safe, and keep it fun. No high kicks, tripping, tackling, or pushing. No off sides. 2. Keep the ball low! Kicking the ball into the lights, ceiling, scoreboards, heating units, and tin above the bricks will result in a penalty kick for the opposing team. 3. Offensive players may not play the ball from inside the goalie box. (For example - no shots from inside the goalie box) An offensive player may pass through the box to position themselves elsewhere on the court provided they do not interfere with the goalie. We need to protect the goalie. 4. No arms or hand use (shoulder on down). Hand balls will result in a free kick for the opposing team at the location of the hand ball. The goalie is only allowed to use their hands while inside their goalie box. A hand ball by the goalie outside the box is played like any other hand ball. A hand ball by the defense inside their own goalie box will result in a penalty kick. 5. Penalty kicks will be shot from a position outside the goalie box and marked with an "X". This is a one on one play with the goalie. All other players must stay up court from the penalty spot until the ball is kicked. Once the ball is kicked it becomes a free ball. 6. Free kicks are taken to resume play after some infraction or injury timeout. The defense must setup between the ball and their goal and they may not play the ball until it has been touched by an offensive player. Overtime Procedure 1. If the game is tied at the end of regulation play, the teams will alternate penalty kicks until the game is decided. Four shots by four players. A rock-paper-scissors will determine which team’s shots are first. Only players who have participated in the game are eligible for the tie breaker.
