Memorial Theatre Counter Weight System: John Sargeant, Property and Facilities Manager, STDC Engineering Meets the Arts - Over the last 4 years STDC and the Hawera Memorial Theatre Trust have put over $700,000 into the Hawera Memorial Theatre. $250,000 of this was for the counterweight system used to fly scenery and lighting requiring structural upgrades and relocating the electrical systems. The result means a half day set-up can now be done in less than 5 minutes.

New Plymouth Waste Water Treatment Plant: Mark Hall, Manager Water & Wastes, New Plymouth District Council Recently NPDC have completed a major upgrade of its aeration process at the NP Wastewater treatment plant. This involved replacing the previous surface aerators with diffusers. This has resulted in several operational benefits including improved monitoring of incoming loads and more efficient electricity usage. Mark’s presentation will overview the upgrade and the benefits achieved.
