HDC | small groups ` 1. What is the most frustrated you have ever been because you were unable to do something? How did you act in that moment? What was ultimately driving your frustration? 2. Read Matthew 26:69-75 and John 21:4-19. How does Peter’s testimony help us understand how Jesus is more than sufficient for us? Read 2 Peter 1:1-4 3. What does Peter’s description of himself as Jesus’ “servant” (v. 1) tell us about personal godliness? Does the fact that he equates his own faith to that of his readers communicate anything to you? 4. How can gaining knowledge of God and Jesus give us more peace in our lives? 5. If Jesus’ righteous work on the cross was more than enough to save us, why do we condemn ourselves and others when we sin? 6. Peter says that God’s power has given us everything we need to live a godly life (v. 4). What does God’s power provide us in regards to temptation, knowledge, faith, struggles, etc.? Read 1 Corinthians 12:7-9 7. Why was Paul given a weakness or “thorn in the flesh”? 8. How can our weaknesses better help others see the sufficiency of God’s grace? 9. Of the four attributes mentioned this weekend (righteousness, grace, peace, power), which one do you feel you need to lean into this week? 10. What does following Jesus this week look like for you? What is God calling you to that you need to obey and simply say “yes” to? 11. In addition to your present commitment, is there something else you would do for Jesus if you knew you couldn’t fail?
