JOB DESCRIPTION EVENT ACCOUNTANT SUMMARY Under general supervision of the Director of Finance, perform the daily accounting activities regarding the facility events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.             

Maintain and audit box office tickets sales reports. Maintain arena event files and documentation both prior and post events. Prepare settlement worksheets in accordance with event contract requirements. Coordinate change orders and promoter cash advances in conjunction with the Director of Finance, Booking Manager and Box Office Manager. Prepare and present event settlements to clients in coordination with the General Manager and the Booking Manager. Prepare and input journal entries for event settlements. Prepare event reports to management, such as Flash Reports and Event Costings. Prepare and update monthly forecasts of arena events and revenues, and assist in preparation of the annual budget. Reconcile Advance Ticket Sales and Settlement Clearing accounts to the general ledger. Perform account analysis on other general ledger accounts. Perform other duties as requested by the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance. Attend weekly staff meetings. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all other departments. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

SKILLS REQUIRED Position requires ability to:         

Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in financial management and accounting software. Operate personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software as well as accounting software. Operate standard office equipment including copier, typewriter and fax machine. Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results. Work as a team member as well as independently, exercising judgment and initiative. Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment. Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

JOB DESCRIPTION EVENT ACCOUNTANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) to three (3) years experience in bookkeeping with substantial event accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
