Facilities Maintenance Manager

CBC Employment Opportunity: A new full time Facilities Maintenance Manager position is available, and we are prayerfully seeking the Lord’s direction for finding an individual to fill this position who has a heart that is passionate about Loving God, Loving Others, and Reaching Out. Our ideal candidate is a confident servant leader who strives to live out God’s truth and grace. This person should be a team player who has the ability to manage others while working alongside of them to see a task completed. This person should be a self-starter who values loving others while remaining detail oriented. Ideally this person has experience in facility maintenance with a general knowledge in the area of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning, and building care. _____________________________________________________________________________ SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to manage and maintain the physical properties of Community Bible Church (CBC) so that the purpose of Loving God, Loving Others and Reaching Out can be accomplished. This includes the preventive and corrective maintenance of building structures, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, equipment and exterior grounds. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibility will be the main campus of Community Bible Church, while endeavoring to provide support and assistance to the other property committee staff in maintaining other church ministry property. Administrative and Managerial:  Assist the Staff and Finance Committee in prioritizing and planning capital improvement projects.  Report to the Finance Committee any property issues the need to be dealt with for the proper functioning of the ministry.  Manage the physical plant budget according to established guidelines.  Prioritize and maintain a log of maintenance projects  Identify areas of potential cost savings in facility systems  Document maintenance procedures  Manage employee(s) in the facilities department. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling, training, reporting, and annual reviews. Coordination with staff and public:  Work closely with leadership and the finance committee to establish goals and objectives for the physical plant of CBC  To assist the Finance Committee in oversight of renovation/construction projects by serving as a liaison between the church and service vendors and outside contractors.  Develop, train and coordinate the use of volunteers to provide maintenance for facilities  Work with the Kitchen committee to ensure the regular cleaning and maintenance of our kitchens.  Provide facility coverage for Banquets and events at CBC.  Communicate closely with ministry staff regarding facility related issues  Work in harmony with all other staff Hands on Maintenance:  Respond to facility related emergencies  Perform and coordinate regular cleaning of our facilities.  Perform general plumbing, electrical or carpentry work.  Maintain and/or renovate facilities to suit the needs of the various ministry programs  Provide standard hand tools needed to complete the work  Oversee the maintenance of the CBC vehicles, trailer, tractors and mowers.  Perform room set up and tear down each week as needed.  Perform or coordinate the care of the grounds. This includes, but is not limited to, mowing, lawn care, weeding, trimming, mulching, and snow removal.  Recognize and reduce conditions on the premises that create an unsafe environment or cause harm to others

Job Description Personnel Committee QUALIFICATIONS To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made. Education and/or Experience 3-5 years experience in property management or experience in maintenance. We would prefer general knowledge in the areas of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning and building care. A valid PA driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Candidate must be able to pass all Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearances. Other Skills, Abilities, and/or Training  Must be mature disciple of Jesus Christ  Must be a current member or regular attender of CBC.  Must work in cooperation with the present philosophy of ministry held by the staff at CBC  Must demonstrate a servant’s attitude and have a spirit of cooperation  Should be spiritually gifted in Leadership, Administration, and Helps.  Is in agreement with the doctrinal and constitutional statements of Community Bible Church.
