"Jolly Socks" Jester Stocking Strip Set Assembly & Cutting: 1) Sew one 2-1/2" Amethyst strip to the right side of one 2-1/2" Pink strip, lengthwise. Sew one 2-1/2" Lime strip to the right side of the 2-1/2" Amethyst strip, lengthwise. Sew one 2-1/2" blue strip to the right side of the Lime strip, lengthwise to set the order of the strips (fig. 1). 2) Continue to sew all the 2-1/2" strips together following the strip order from Step 1 to make one piece of strip fabric approximately 48-1/2" x WOF. Press all the seams in one direction. 3) Place the strip fabric on a cutting table, right side up and place a ruler with Fig. 1 a 45º angle line on top of the fabric. Align the 45º angle line with one side of the strip fabric (fig. 2). Cut a 45º angle across the the fabric (fig. 3). 4) Turn the fabric so the 45º angle side is vertical and cut the fabric into 2-1/2" strips to create the diamond pattern (fig. 4). Keep the strips in order as you cut them. 5) Lay out the 2-1/2" strips on a design wall in the order you cut them, aligning each strip to create the diamond pattern (fig. 5). Sew the strips together. NOTE: the diamond fabric created by the strips will not be square.
