Mission Statement Through proper guidance the Little League program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.

Expectations KEEP COOL and do not lose perspective. Create a fun, safe and enjoyable environment for all participates. Provide an equal opportunity for all to compete and grow. Respect the children, parents and adult volunteers. Preserve and care for Little League property and equipment. Know and follow the rules of the league and the individual divisions. Zero Tolerance Harassment Policy found on page 194 of the Little League Rule Book Available at Pat henry Field

Equipment White baseball pants and rubber cleats. Black softball pants and rubber cleats. Sliding shorts are recommended. Male players must wear a protective cup with athletic supporter. Approved bats are listed at www.littleleague.org. Batters must wear NOCSAE protective helmets during batting practices and games. Batting/catcher’s helmets shall not be painted. Catchers must wear catcher’s helmet (with face mask and throat guard), chest protector, shin guards, long model chest protector (baseball), and protective cup with athletic supporter at all times during practice sessions and games. Pelvic protectors are highly recommended for Softball Catchers. Fielding Masks are required for Softball Infielders and Pitchers.

Safety Tips for Coaches Always have a cell phone handy. No food in the dugouts Have a minimum of two coaches at all practices and games. Check the field before practice and games. The three most important items in a first aid kit are Ice, Ice, and Ice. Bring towels to practice and games for applying ice, stopping nose bleeds, and soaking with cold water to cool an overheated player. Read and keep copies of all emergency medical forms in your team bag at all times. 11
More Safety Tips for Coaches Warm up properly prior to practice and play. Encourage players to bring two water bottles to practice and games. Sweatshirts are a must during the early season. Pre-season parent meetings help set expectations and alleviate issues. Only background cleared approved managers, coaches, umpires and players are permitted on the playing field or in the dugout during games and practice. Maintain adequate supplies in your first aid kit. Do Not Hesitate To Call For Help - 911 12
Wound Care If the wound is soiled, irrigate with a disinfectant or clean water. Cover the wound with a clean or sterile dressing to prevent infection. Apply a sterile gauze pad to the wound (if not available use a clean towel) Elevate the wound and apply direct pressure until bleeding stops. If the bleeding continues past 5-10 minutes, seek medical attention. Wear protective gloves

Safety Do Not's Administer any medications Give any food or drink except water. Be afraid to ask for help if you are not sure of the proper procedures. Transport injured players except in extreme emergencies. Leave the injured player or the team unattended. 14
