KEY NOTES—SW WASHINGTON 2015 Adult 40 & Over
One Week Before Match Home captain confirms their home match courts are reserved for their match (check the name). Home captain emails the visiting captain at least five days prior to the match to confirm date, time, and venue. If the Visiting captain has not received the confirming email, s/he needs to send an email to the home team captain to confirm the above. Day of Match—Bring your team’s lineup on the TennisLink scorecard. This scorecard lists the registered players. All players must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the TennisLink scheduled match time. The TennisLink match times are official and the penalty clock for loss of toss, game losses, and potential defaults begin at the official time. The reasons for players to arrive fifteen minutes prior to the official match time are: for captains to confirm their players are on site and ready to play, to allow time to make the line-up exchange, for the Home team captain to review with all players, scorecard color, and make the court assignments. for players to be on the court, racquet in hand, and making introductions no later than the official time. Matches will start early when courts are available. If courts open early, they are not for casual warm-up or practice. Begin the actual match. Put #1 on an available court before #2. Do NOT move a match in progress off the court if they exceed the 90-minute match time unless overseen & facilitated by facility staff or unless it is the last match of the day and there is a non-USTA reservation or the facility is closing and you need to leave. By juggling early starts with a late start, we should be able to finish the day on schedule. Note: We need to be considerate to the host clubs’ members, staff & management.
Visiting Player Fees: $10 unless a member of the host facility. CCT, LRC, SPR, VAC: pay the full team amount at the front desk/pro shop and before match begins KTAC, TFC: before match when you check in at front desk, paid individually is okay TLTC, UPS: before match to the Home Team Captain Warm-up Seven (7) minutes. Practice how this can be accomplished.
No-ad Scoring—When the score is deuce, the next point is for the game. The receiver(s) chooses which side/player will receive. Change ends after each set Tiebreaks—Set and Match Set tiebreak is first to seven points ahead by two. Remain on the same side of the court for the entire set. Match tiebreak is first to ten points ahead by two. Switch ends to begin the third set, then every six points. Enter Scores—Both captains are responsible The second captain who logs in to record the score, reviews the input and confirms [or disputes] the score. If either captain disputes the score, send an email the other captain and to the league coordinator that explains the reason for dispute. Rescheduling—not an option except for inclement weather, natural disaster, or unavoidable occurrence to carry out the match as scheduled. Exception Dates were requested and were considered when making the season match schedule. Review the LEAGUE GUIDE for more detail and protocols. It is for captains and for players. The LEAGUE GUIDE gives stepby-step instructions for some topics and it covers many FAQs. (A couple of points that are Area-specific are under revision.) It is available at: http://www.pnw.usta.com/USTA-League under “Captain/Player Guide”. Have a FUN season. See you on the courts.
