Fall  News  and  Updates…   A short message from the President Welcome to all new members and thanks to all LCC members for your continued support. I am very excited to once again work with a terrific and dynamic board of directors. We met over the summer to plan activities and events for 2014-2015, which will include the celebration of the chapter’s 25th anniversary on April 22, 2015. Three of the board members will be attending the STTI Leadership Connection Conference in Indianapolis in September. LCC Spring 2014 scholarship recipient Dr. Jessie Colin and I had had the pleasure of attending and presenting at STTI 25th Research Congress in Hong Kong. What a fantastic conference and a memorable and unforgettable Hong Kong experience. Truly, a SIGMA experience of a lifetime! I am grateful for the opportunity you have given me to serve as the 2013-2015 LCC president and look forward to another year as we work together to fulfill the mission of STTI. Indra Hershorin

The autumn season has officially arrived! Fall is known as “harvest season”, when we gather all that we have labored over throughout the year and prepare for the long days in the coming year ahead. It is in that same essence that we prepare for the gathering of our STTI Chapter annual membership business meeting, scheduled for Monday November 17th, 2014 from 5pm-7pm. The location will be at Barry University’s main campus; the evenings’ guest speaker and room is TBA. So please mark your calendars and save this important membership date! In other important updates, the LCC Board will once again mentor a new group of undergraduates who are Barry Nursing Student Association Board members (NSA). The 2013-2014 LCC Mentoring program was such a success, that LCC members are working with enrolled Barry MSN/DNP graduate students on the literature reviews needed to present a paper on the benefits of our LCC mentoring program to enhance the undergraduate NSA Board member experience, and foster the importance of life-long professional engagement in organizations such as STTI. We look forward to seeing you all at the November membership business meeting! Ronica Subramoney
