to the past, to those who thought and acted boldly for more than 285 years to build the community of faith we share today
“The good leave an inheritance to their children’s children…” Proverbs 13:22
At the same time
We are the seeds of the future…
for those who will succeed us. We set things in motion and the fruition of our actions may be known only to others whom we may not meet. Partnering across generations we ask you to consider…
What part you can play in shaping this legacy?
Thank you
for considering a legacy gift to the First Church of Christ Endowment Fund

Planting Seeds for the Future First Church of Christ, Congregational Redding, Connecticut
Our Church Endowment
was created to receive donations and estate gifts from members and friends. Your endowment: • Continues in perpetuity, growing by additional donations • Serves as a lasting legacy of faith and commitment to our church’s future • Enriches the church’s mission and ministry beyond the annual budget • Funds meaningful projects aligned with the mission of our church through investment returns but leaves donations untouched
What is a Legacy Gift?
• A form of charitable giving made in the context of your estate planning • Allows you to make an enduring statement of your faith which will help build our church’s ministry for generations to come
Why Make a Legacy Gift?
• Benefit from meaningful tax advantages • Create a lasting expression of your faith • Provide financial stability to your church and strengthen its ministry for generations to come • Make a gift that “keeps on giving”
Making a Gift
A gift of any size is significant…the best gift is one that is appropriate for you • Giving can be structured to benefit the donor or the church during the donor’s lifetime, or to benefit the church at the death of the donor • Consider an unconditional gift to the endowment offering the greatest flexibility in matching your generosity with the future needs of the church • You may also designate your gift to a purpose of special significance to you • If you wish to further explore your options for legacy giving or make a donation: • Contact Rev. Dr. Dean Ahlberg • Consult your professional advisors • Check out the church website at www.firstchurchredding.org If you have already included the church in your legacy giving plans, thank you! Please inform the church so that we may properly express our gratitude.
Please consult with your professional advisors on how your gift would ffiit into your overall plans.
