Tonight, Lehman hosts Medgar Evers in the final home match of the regular season. We celebrate Senior Night, as Lehman College will honor Maria Richiez‐Paredes, Cari English, and Julia Mercado with a brief ceremony prior to the start of the match. The Lightning have clinched the #3 seed in the upcoming 2014 CUNY Athletic Conference standings and will host a CUNYAC Quarterfinal match on Tuesday, November 4, in the APEX Main Gym. The Lightning will host Staten Island, who owns the tiebreaker over John Jay. Game time is still to be determined. Lehman is coming off a thrilling come‐from‐behind victory over St. Joseph’s College of Brooklyn as the Lightning rallied from a 2‐0 deficit to earn the road victory. Set scores were 22‐25, 17‐25, 25‐19, 25‐18, and 15‐11. Playing a pivotal role in Lehman's rally was English, who produced a team‐ high 20 kills, and recorded 10 digs. Mercado slammed home 13 kills, with 14 digs, and three service aces. Freshman Lizette Medina led the defense with 17 digs. Classmate Lindsay Pantaleon produced 13 digs, while junior Imani Dubois added eight. The Lightning will close out the regular season with a pair of non‐ conference matches at Western Connecticut State University on Saturday, November 1. Lehman will battle Plymouth (N.H.) State at 2:00 p.m., then battle host WCSU at 4:00 p.m. So far this season, English leads the Lightning with an average of 2.79 kills per set while Mercado has an average of 1.45.
